“By balancing the posture, we balance the nervous system. When the nervous system is balanced, the body begins to work the way it’s supposed to work with range of motion increasing and pain decreasing.”
– Michael Uriarte D.C. Founder Of The Myokinesthetic System
If someone is in pain, they will have unbalanced posture. By targeting the nervous system specifically, we work on the specific nerve imbalance that is causing problems. When posture is balanced, range of motion will increase and pain disappears.
The MYK practitioner begins with a detailed analysis of a person’s posture to determine which nerve is affected and contributing to the patient’s pain. The therapist will then treat all the muscles along that nerve.
You remain fully clothed; no oils or lotions are used. The nervous system stimulation helps the nerves send the proper signal to the muscles to allow them to respond and function normally, with increased range of motion, and decreasing pain, numbness etc.
The Myokinesthetic System has been found effective in treating:
- Back Pain
- RSD / CRPS
- Frozen Shoulder
- Tennis, Golfer Elbow
- Neck Pain
- Shoulder Pain
- Restless Leg Syndrome
- Headaches, Migraines
- Plantar Fasciitis
